Below is the latest news from Internet broadband provider U Mobile
UMobile launches microSIM card
U Mobile subscribers with smart devices can now get the U Mobile standard SIM card converted to MicroSIM for free. Subscribers simply have to visit any U Mobile service centres nationwide and a U Mobile customer service officer will be able to assist.
The MicroSIM is designed to be compatible to smart devices such as the iPhone 4 or the iPad 3G.
While standard SIM cards measure 15mm (width) x 25mm (height), a microSIM measures 12mm in width and 15mm in height. All the electrical contacts and circuitry of a MicroSIM are still identical to that of a standard SIM card.
"Looking at the current trend of smart devices, U Mobile recognises the need to provide the products and services to enhance the user experience," said U Mobile CEO Dr Kaizad Heerjee.
The MicroSIM can be used with both mobile data and broadband plans.
Customers can sign up for U Broadband plans which are available from as low as RM6 per day to RM68 per month.
There is also a special promotion for U Broadband plans that start from as low as RM20 per month for data allowance of 2GB.
From now until Fed 28, a free modem will be given to subscribers who sign up for UB40 and UB68 with no contract attached. For more information, log on to www.u.com.my .
